Northern Tennessee (May 2023)

Our flight out was in the evening, from Nashville, about a 3 hour drive from our Knoxville hotel. We awoke relatively late, and headed out on the drive, with the intention of stopping at several smaller state parks along the way. We first stopped at Cummings Falls State Park, which had an impressive waterfall, and then Edgar Evins State Park, although that was one was essentially a lake park and we didn't do any hiking there. We arrived in Nashville with a decent amount of time, so we went on a tour of the Belle Meade historical site and winery, which was another mansion from about the same time as Andrew Jackson's Hermitage. The family who lived there made their living from raising racehorses, up until Prohibition. After the tour, we stopped briefly by their tasting room before heading to the airport.
