Jen's Account of the Day

Well, there was a breakfast. It was a box of stale muffins and moldy blueberries that had been sitting next to the window for god-knows-how-long. We picked at it sparingly before heading on our way, before the tiny hallway bathroom got too busy. We headed north in a heavy fog, which disappeared as we turned inland to see the redwoods.

We took the Avenue of the Giants through the redwood forest, and stopped to do some hiking in Rockefeller National Forest, before arriving in Eureka for lunch. We got in too early to check in, but found a Hawaiian restaurant about a quarter mile away that served Xingu, of all things. The Banana Hut was delicious, though very heavy for lunch. Checked into the hotel afterward, now chilling. Wine is also chilling.

Dinner at the "Irish" pub downstairs was solidly mediocre. They got my order wrong despite having me repeat it five times. And their beer list sucked. Criminal.
