Jen's Account of the Day

The whole morning was consumed by the jet boat tour. Not really a bad thing, since the jet boat tour was awesome. The trip was a nice mix of science and fun, and even the food was decent. We did have a bit of a scare at the end, when some geniuses decided they were going to fish off the middle of the pedestrian bridge over the river. You know, the one that has a million "no fishing from bridge" signs. Fortunately, the line didn't snare anyone.

At breakfast we were seated next to a couple from Klamath Falls, our next stop. They offered up several suggestions of what to see and eat. They also said that the smoke in the area was bad. We didn't have anywhere else to go, so off we went.

One thing had been missing from this trip and that was some minigolf. There was a course in Fort Bragg, but we hadn't seen one since. We finally found one off the interstate on the way to Klamath Falls. It was smokey, that's my excuse. We had fun, though. I also had a complete stranger ask me to watch his grandkid for a minute while he "went looking for the other one", which was a first for me.

After our game we continued on Klamath Falls and arrived around dinnertime. We went to a sushi restaurant (again) that had been recommended to us, which was good, though slow (this was starting to become a theme). The smoke kept us from wandering around too much outdoors, so we headed back to the hotel room to plan tomorrow's route. Fires are burning around Crater Lake and there's been some road closures.
